The fairy taless got it all wrong. There was no heroic lumber jack. Red sorted it out on her own, but if they want to give credit to the "mean old lumber jack" that's fine with Red because they will continue underestimate her. Now about that mean 'ol wolf, well she had plans for what's left of that furry menace. Reds are who we are at the genetic level. Change our location. Change our dimension. We will continue to be who we are. We will face adversity, and we will sort it out. There will always be wolves, so there will always be a need for a Red Riding Hood
